Memoir Italic mixes the themes of classicism and daring experimentation, reinterpreting the faceted surface of a diamond that with its angular, fleeting, ribbon-like gaits dances in perfect harmony with the curved lines of a female body.

Romantic is an experimental typeface design inspired by watchmaking and high jewelry.

Romantic lowercase letters

All the letters of Romantic are carefully constructed in a play of round and diagonal lines, taking into account the typographic necessities imposed on it by the human eye through the laws of optics.

These very simple letter shapes are based on an idea by Italian art director legend Luca Stoppini. The creation was also inspired by the geometric style of Cartier jewelry. The typeface occasionally appeared in Vogue Italy.

Girl

The creation of the Girl character was inspired by the pseudo modernist typefaces Vogue used in the late sixties. Letter details and its large rhythm are reminiscent of Diana Vreeland’s eccentric and experimental editorial style during this period.

Around the same time, Cristóbal Balenciaga, whom Vreeland admired, retired from his career. Large bias ovals and sharp, clear lines characterized his dresses at the height of geometric experiments in haute couture.

From Balenciaga’s iconic silhouettes, the Girl typeface inherits letter stems with tapered outer lines and carefully geometrically constructed details.

The Forward numbers come from my first experimental typeface on the threshold to the new millennium. They reflect the style that made Miuccia Prada famous.

Just as Prada revived the distinctive futuristic trends in fashion at the end of the sixties, the Forward typeface creates its minimalist beauty from something supposedly ugly.

A tribute to the classic fragrance for men by Christian Dior. As a semi Roman typeface Reflection also borrows from its historical ancestors, yet plays with subtle experiments. Its Bézier construction is kept simple to remain as faithful as possible to the original character sketched on the monitor spontaneously.

Among my first typefaces for Luca Stoppini at Vogue Italia were a series of fonts with extremely elongated letterforms. They are reminiscent of the experiments of the Russian Futurists. Supremextra and others reflect the elegant feminine beauties in their couture wardrobes.
